Most guides speak English and Swahili. Some speak French, German, or Spanish. Hindi is very rare on the ground.

Kenya eVisa and ETA Requirements for Indian Citizens
Yes, Indian citizens need a visa for Kenya. Since January 2024, Kenya uses an Electronic Travel Authorization system. You apply online at the official Kenya ETA portal.

Flights from India to Nairobi
There are no non stop flights from Delhi or Mumbai to Nairobi. The shortest routes have one stop.
From Delhi, Kenya Airways flies via Addis Ababa or Doha. Total travel time is 9 to 12 hours depending on layover. From Mumbai, Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa is the most common. Air India flies via Muscat on certain days.
You land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. From there, BestCamp Safaris meets you and transfers you to your first camp. Most safari camps are a short domestic flight away. For example, the flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Masai Mara’s Mara North Airstrip takes 45 minutes.
Best Time to Visit Kenya from India
Kenya has two peak safari seasons. July through December is the dry season and the Great Migration period. January through June has lower prices and still excellent wildlife viewing.
For a honeymoon, consider June. The crowds are thinner, the grass is shorter, and prices are lower than August. You still see lions, elephants, and leopards. The migration herds start moving in July, so you miss the river crossings.
October is another good month. The short rains are light, and the landscape is green. The parks feel empty compared to August.
Avoid April and May. The long rains make dirt roads muddy and many camps close.

You still need flexibility. On a bush dinner, the kitchen may prepare a mixed platter. Ask the chef to set aside plain rice, dal, and a simple vegetable curry. This works at most mid range and luxury camps.

Health, Vaccinations and Safety for Indian Travelers
Yellow fever vaccination is compulsory if you arrive from a yellow fever endemic country. India is not on that list, but immigration officials sometimes ask for proof. Carry your yellow fever certificate anyway. It is a small inconvenience.
Anti malarial tablets are strongly recommended. Most Indian travelers take Doxycycline or Mefloquine. Talk to your doctor four weeks before travel.
Kenya is safe for tourists in safari areas. Nairobi has normal city crime, so use hotel transfers. The safari camps are fenced or patrolled. Keep your room zipped at night.
