Do Bangladeshi Citizens Need a Visa for Kenya?
Yes. You need an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before you fly.
Apply online at the official Kenyan eTA portal. The fee is an indicative USD 30 to 35 per person, so confirm the current rate before you pay. Processing takes 3 to 5 working days, so apply at least two weeks ahead.
This rule applies to every nationality, including Indian citizens. There is no eTA on arrival, even with a valid US, UK, or Schengen visa.
Your passport must be valid for six months from arrival, with two blank pages for stamps.
Is There a Direct Flight from Dhaka to Nairobi?
No direct flight exists from Dhaka to Nairobi. Realistic options are one-stop flights through Doha, Dubai, or Mumbai.
- From Dhaka: Qatar Airways via Doha or Emirates via Dubai. Total travel time is 10 to 14 hours plus layover.
- From Kolkata: Kenya Airways via Mumbai or Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa. Layovers are often 3 to 6 hours.
Book early. Flights fill up during the July to October migration season.
How Many Days Are Needed for a Kenya Safari from Bangladesh or India?
Plan for at least 7 days, giving you 5 full safari days plus arrival and departure.
A standard itinerary:
- Day 1: Arrive Nairobi, overnight at a city hotel.
- Day 2: Fly or drive to Masai Mara, afternoon game drive.
- Days 3 to 5: Full days in the Mara.
- Day 6: Drive to Lake Nakuru, afternoon game drive.
- Day 7: Morning drive, then return to Nairobi.
Lake Nakuru sits about 265 km from the Mara, a drive of 4 to 5 hours, so you still reach camp in time for an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is not a realistic same-day swap in this slot. It sits 365 to 400 or more km from the Mara, 7 to 9 hours or longer on rough roads, mostly via Narok and Namanga. There is no time left for a game drive after that drive, and we will not sell you an itinerary that pretends otherwise.
If you want Amboseli on your trip, we route it through Nairobi. That means either an extra overnight in Nairobi and a fresh drive south, or a short domestic flight between the Mara and Amboseli. Both options add a day to the standard 7-day plan. Tell us during planning and we will build the extra day in.

Are There Bengali-Speaking Safari Guides in Kenya?
Honestly, no. There are no dedicated Bengali-speaking guides in Kenya.

What Vaccinations Are Required Before Traveling from Bangladesh?
You need a yellow fever vaccination, and you must carry the certificate. Border officials ask for it on arrival.
Get the shot at least 10 days before departure. It costs around USD 20 to USD 40 in Dhaka or Kolkata. Other recommended vaccines: Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, and Tetanus.
Malaria is present in Kenya. Your doctor will prescribe antimalarial tablets, started before arrival and continued after you leave. Use repellent every evening.
Is Halal Food Available at Kenyan Safari Camps?
Yes. Halal food is available at most camps we use.

At 5am the camp wakes you with tea and a knock. You dress in layers and meet your guide while the sky is still grey.
You drive for an hour in the dark, then the sun rises and the plains turn gold. Staff set up a bush breakfast under an acacia tree, with strong hot coffee.
By 10am you return to camp to rest, in a tent with a proper bed, a bucket shower, and a flush toilet.
Afternoon tea is at 4pm, then the evening drive brings you to a hippo pool or a leopard’s tree. Dinner is served in the lantern-lit dining tent.
